Son of Sardaar, also known by the abbreviation SOS, is a 2012 Indian Hindi-language action comedy film directed by Ashwni Dhir.[4] The film features Ajay Devgn, Juhi Chawla, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles and released on 13 November 2012. Salman Khan appears in a cameo role.[5]


It is a remake of the Telugu movie Maryada Ramanna (inspired by Our Hospitality a 1923 Silent comedy film directed by and starring Buster Keaton) directed by SS.Rajamouli. Although competing with the Yash Raj film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Son of Sardaar managed to do good business at the box office worldwide.[6] Box Office India declared it a Hit in India and an average grosser in the overseas markets.[7][8] It went on to gross ₹1.5 billion (US$21 million) worldwide.[9]

Drishyam (transl. Visuals) is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language drama thriller film directed by Nishikant Kamat. The film is a remake of the 2013 Malayalam-language film of the same name. The film was jointly produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Ajit Andhare and Abhishek Pathak. It stars Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and Tabu and also features Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav.

The film was theatrically released in India on 31 July 2015 and received overwhelming reviews from critics. It grossed ₹93.85 crore in India and a worldwide total of ₹111.05 crore worldwide against a budget of ₹48 crore.[4]
Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgn) is an orphan who dropped out of school after his 4th grade. Now he is a content businessman running a cable TV service in Goa. He is married to Nandini (Shriya Saran), and have Anju, his adopted daughter (Ishita Dutta), a class twelve student, and Anu (Mrunal Jadhav), a class six student. His only interest is watching films. He has gained fame in his area for helping people out with the help of methods he learns from films.

During a nature camp which Anju attends, a hidden cell phone camera records Anju removing her clothes and showering in the bathroom. The culprit, Sameer "Sam" Deshmukh (Rishab Chaddha), is the son of Inspector General of Goa Police, Meera Deshmukh (Tabu). Sam comes to blackmail Anju for sexual favors. Nandini pleads with Sam to leave their family alone, but Sam refuses to delete the video clip unless his sexual demand is fulfilled. Nandini begs him to leave Anju alone, and Sam says that he would do it on one condition: Nandini should have sex with him instead. In an attempt to break the offending cell phone, Anju takes a swing at Sam with a lead pipe, but she strikes him in the head instead, killing him immediately. They bury his body in a compost pit in the backyard, which is witnessed by Anu. In the morning, when Vijay returns from work, Nandini tells Vijay about the incident and he devises a way to save his family from the police. He removes the broken cell phone and disposes of Sam's car, which is seen by the corrupt Sub-Inspector Laxmikant Gaitonde (Kamlesh Sawant), who has a grudge against Vijay. The next day, Vijay takes his family out on a trip to Panjim, where they visit an Ashram, watch a movie, and eat at a restaurant.

The film follows a young, married couple contradicting the gender roles placed upon women and men in Indian society, by making the man as the wife and the lady as the husband. The Ring is a 2002 American supernatural horror film directed by Gore Verbinski and starring Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson, David Dorfman, Brian Cox, and Daveigh Chase. It is a remake of the 1998 Japanese horror film Ring, based on the novel of the same name by Koji Suzuki. Watts portrays a journalist who investigates a cursed videotape that seemingly kills the viewer seven days after watching it.

The Ring was released theatrically on October 18, 2002, and received mostly positive reviews, with critics praising the atmosphere and Watts's performance. The film grossed over $249 million worldwide on a $48 million production budget, making it one of the highest-grossing horror remakes. It is the first installment of the American Ring series, and is followed by The Ring Two and Rings, which were released in 2005 and 2017, respectively.

The Ring paved the way for English-language remakes of Asian horror films, such as The Grudge, Dark Water, Pulse, One Missed Call, The Eye, Shutter, Mirrors, The Echo and The Uninvited.

Iron Man and Hulk: Heroes United is a direct to video animated film by Marvel Animation. The film is the first long form of animation for Marvel since its Marvel Universe TV block and was targeted to children.[4] The film stars Adrian Pasdar as Iron Man, Fred Tatasciore as Hulk/Banner,[4] and Dee Bradley Baker as Zzzax.[5]

The studio used a new process that they invented referred to as a "2-D wrap". This process starts with traditional animation then scanning into the computer to wrap it around the "characters to give texture and weight to backgrounds and strongly emphasize facial expressions."[4]

Rockstar is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language musical romantic drama film directed by Imtiaz Ali, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri, with music composed by A. R. Rahman. The film also stars Moufid Aziz, Aditi Rao Hydari, Piyush Mishra, Shernaz Patel, Kumud Mishra in supporting roles, and also Shammi Kapoor, who makes his last silver screen appearance. The film was produced by Eros International Ltd. along with Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd. It follows Janardhan Jakhar a.k.a. JJ or Jordan, who dreams of becoming a rockstar like his role model, Jim Morrison. Yet, eventually on attaining all that he dreamt of, Jordan ends up anguished and despondent, by the loss of Heer Kaul, whom he loved passionately and whose illness is inadvertently caused by Jordan himself.

Development of Rockstar commenced in May 2010. Nargis Fakhri was cast as the female lead, after plans to give the role to Kareena Kapoor were shelved. Filming in India took place at Delhi, Kashmir, Mumbai and Dharamsala, while the foreign sequences were shot in Prague and Liberec, Czech Republic.[5][6]

Rockstar was released on 11 November 2011. On the day of release, Tibetans in Chennai and Dharmasala protested against the Central Board of Film Certification for asking the film-makers to censor scenes featuring the Tibetan flag. Upon release, the film received positive to mixed reviews.[7] Critics highlighted Kapoor and Rahman as the stars of the film, but criticised the plot. The film did well at the box office, managing to appeal the youngsters in the cities.[8] Made on a budget of ₹600 million (US$8.4 million), Rockstar grossed ₹1.08 billion (US$15 million) worldwide.[9] Kapoor and Rahman received numerous awards for their work in the film

Anjaana Anjaani (transl. Strangers) is a 2010 Indian romantic comedy drama film directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It stars Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra as two suicidal strangers who meet and make a pact to commit suicide in twenty days on New Year's Eve. In the interim, the couple fulfil their personal wishes and eventually fall in love. Vishal-Shekhar composed the soundtrack, with lyrics by various artists.

Wanting to make an unusual romance film, Anand struggled to find unconventional ideas while he was writing. Then his wife Mamta came up with the core narrative of the film, which excited him and changed his perspective. Anand approached novelist Advaita Kala who developed the story into a feature-length script, and later co-wrote the screenplay with him. Principal photography was done entirely in New York City, Las Vegas and San Francisco.

The film was released on 1 October 2010 to mixed critical reviews. Reviewers praised the lead performances, music and cinematography, but were critical of the film's screenplay and pace. Made on a budget ₹380 million, Anjaana Anjaani, grossed ₹685 million making it a moderate box office success. Vishal-Shekhar were nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for the film's soundtrack.
